Nord Cryo Coldfinger

Small Coldfinger, compatible with SMA4

Nord Cryo is releasing its first coldfinger for sample holders.

The design includes two layers of magnetic shielding for use at millikelvin temperatures. It is made from high-purity copper with non-magnetic gold plating.

Its simple, modular design makes it easy to adapt and expand for future applications.

The compact sample-holder assembly can be attached to the mixing chamber plates of many commonly used dilution refrigerators.

The central mounting breadboard features an array of 4.5 mm holes on a 10 mm grid, together with additional 5 mm slots at the bottom. This allows the coldfinger to accommodate a wide range of compact sample holders, including Nord Cryo’s own SMA2 and SMA4 designs.

Wiring can be routed through both lids and out through the copper top plate.

Both magnetic-shielding layers can be attached in a single motion using Nord Cryo’s latest easy-to-use mounting-bracket design.

This is the first in a series of Nord Cryo sample-holder coldfinger and shielding designs.
